Susan is an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in the area of Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. Prior to joining the firm, she served as director of environment and health care policy at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives, and a Legislative Service Commission fellow. Susan is a board member emeritus of the Muskingum County Community Foundation Board of Directors, a member of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, Muskingum County Farm Bureau, Muskingum County Cattlemen’s Association, Ark Spring Baptist Church, and is a Boy Scout and 4-H volunteer. Susan was born in Zanesville, and is proud to have returned to her hometown. Susan is married to James A. McDonald. They live on the family farm where he owns and operates McDonald’s Greenhouse, Ltd. They have three sons.

Susan serves as Managing Partner of the firm. The firm has offices in Zanesville and Coshocton and serve SE Ohio. Susan has been with the firm since 2003, becoming a partner in 2016. Susan’s major practice areas include Estates, Estate Planning, Agricultural Law and Real Estate. Susan also maintains a general practice, meeting the needs of her clients in a range of legal matters.

Personal Statement
As a product of Ohio 4-H and Farm Bureau and now as an attorney living on our family farm, I have a life-long instilled belief in preserving the family farm and giving families tools and support to succeed in an approachable and understandable manner. Farmers are "my people." I believe in "Faith, Family, & Farm"...in that order.
