Personal Statement
I believe that farm transition planning is just as diverse as the families that make up the industry. Not every operation looks the same, and the plans that help transition the operation to the next generation shouldn't either. Each situation is unique, and my goal is to help families create a plan that works for their individual operation. Among some of the challenges I see with clients is that of family communication. I understand that family dynamics can be tough to navigate, but allowing each perspective a seat a the table can ultimately assist with the transition and ensure the operation continues for generations to come. Furthermore, farm transition planning is not a one time transaction; instead, it's a constant, ongoing process that requires families to revisit their plan throughout the years. Plans created at one moment in time develop and change, as do the situations of the family members involved. Ultimately, my role in a family's farm transition plan is to provide guidance and direction, while establishing a relationship with the family that can last throughout the duration of the operation itself.
