    OSU Extension offers two-day schools at convenient locations throughout Ohio designed for tax preparers with some experience preparing and filing federal tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Instruction focuses on tax law changes and on the problems that you face in preparing tax returns.  Highly qualified instructors will explain and interpret tax regulations and recent changes in tax laws. These two-day schools offer continuing education credit for attorneys, CPAs, EAs and CFPs, and other tax return preparers.

    COSHOCTON, Ohio – Women landowners and tenants can learn the art of negotiation, drawing up lease contracts and other facets of land-lease agreements during a workshop offered by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. The Ladies on the Land workshop is Oct. 20 from noon to 4:30 p.m. and will be held simultaneously in two locations: at the Frontier Power Community Room, 770 South 2nd St. in Coshocton; and at the Putnam County Extension Office, 1206 East 2nd St., in Ottawa.

    Agritourism operations often bring farm animals and people together, creating an environment that can lead to the transmission of infectious zoonotic diseases such as salmonella, E. coli and cryptosporidium.   A child harmed by a zoonotic disease from a pumpkin farm in Minnesota recently received a $7.5 million judgment against the farm, a testament to the risks of interaction between farm animals and humans.
