    We are thrilled to announce that John Lawrence is back and will be teaching a Summer Income Tax Update on Thursday, August 8, at the Nationwide & Farm Bureau 4-H Center on the campus of The Ohio State University. The all-day workshop will focus on the Qualified Business Income Deduction as well as other timely topics (see our website for more details).     Learn how to get the most value from manure, from  nutrient availability to application timing and methods. The day includes educational sessions, field demonstrations, a tour of manure composting facility, and a delicious barbeque lunch.   At 11:00 a.m. OSU Ag Law's Peggy Kirk Hall will present on manure application and legal liability.

    This two session workshop is structured to help farm families develop a transition plan for the future, discover ways to increase family communication, and learn necessary strategies to successfully transfer management skills and the farm’s business assets from one generation to the next. The workshop will challenge farm families to actively plan for the future of the farm business. The workshop will involve some work and family conversation between the two sessions that will help move the farm farther along in the process of farm transition and succession.

    The National Agricultural Law Center sponsors free monthly webinars on agricultural law issues.  The July webinar features Rusty Rumley, Senior Staff Attorney at the Center,  who will address factors to consider in hunting lease agreements.   Rusty will discuss payment options, managing hunter numbers,  liability insurance, restrictions on certain hunting practices, the use of ATVs and a host of other concerns.   To learn more about the webinar and to register, go to this link.
